Taylor + Alex | Grand Forks Engagement Photography | April 11, 2017

These two set a personal record for me of the earliest session of my photography career.  We met on a chilly Tuesday morning  at the Grand Forks airport to catch some sunrise images.  And the sunrise DID NOT DISAPPOINT.  Once we finished up with our aviation images (Alex!), we headed over to my little spot on the Turtle River for some country shots (Taylor!)  Coffee and a walk in the country after an incredible sunrise, and I will call that a successful Tuesday morning.  It was a special pleasure to have spent my morning with two people so clearly and abundantly in love.

Thank you Taylor and Alex for spending the morning with me – I enjoyed every minute!2017-04-12_00012017-04-12_00022017-04-12_00032017-04-12_00042017-04-12_00052017-04-12_00082017-04-12_0006

Abby + Shaun | 2.4.17 | Cottonwood Community Church | Grand Forks Wedding Photographer

Abby and Shaun were blessed with a light snow dusting on the morning of their winter wedding.  Not too much, but just enough to remind us all that even in the cold of winter- we are surrounded by the beauty of the season. The beautiful, rustic church these two chose for thier ceremony and reception provided the perfect backdrop for a lovely February wedding.  It was such a blessing to be a part of such an intimate ceremony and reception.

Thank you Abby and Shaun, and thank you to the Hopkins’ and Crea’s for sharing your day with me.  I hope these images capture even a small bit of how very special you clearly are to one another.

Theodore & Amanda | St. Mark’s Lutheran Church | Alerus Center | Grand Forks Wedding Photographer

Tedd and Amanda flew in all the way from Maryland to celebrate their special day in Amanda’s home state.  While it was always a possibility, these two managed to make it  through their New Year’s Eve wedding without one of our notorious Nodak’ blizzards.  While it made for some beautiful winter images with this raven haired, red lipped beauty – I will offer, again, my apologies for dragging these two (and their rock star bridal party) out into the frigid December for some (relatively) quick shots in the snow.  And although I know they had to be on the verge of freezing to the point of becoming life sized cake toppers- they photographed gracefully and beautifully and had not a word of challenge to my many ‘one more shots’.

After a beautiful ceremony at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church here in Grand Forks, we headed over to an exquisitely decorated ballroom at the Alerus Center to continue the celebration.

Thank you Tedd and Amanda, and thank you to the Nelsons and Oravecs for spending your special day AND your New Year’s Eve with Monica and I.  We enjoyed every minute!

Parker + Emily | Fargo North Dakota Wedding Photographer

From the very beginning of getting to know Emily and Parker, it was very clear that these two set themselves apart as a young couple.

Sweet, warm and endearing is how I would describe my first impression of Emily.  As for Parker, and even though our first conversation was via Iphone, from then to now, he was the epitome of respectful and kind.

We began our day with first looks with Emily and her girls, and an emotional moment with her Dad, Peter.  And then on to Island Park with their fantastic bridal party.  Erin and I were blessed to take part in a beautifully done, and wonderfully emotional ceremony.  One of the moments that stood out to me, that I think is a very clear reflection of who these two are as a couple:  At one point during the ceremony, while her unbelievably talented brother was singing, Emily became emotional at the moment.  Parker noticed her tears and very gently reached out and took her hand. The tenderness of the moment, and the sensitivity of Parker to the heart of his (now!) wife was a wonderful thing to have been there to capture.

After the ceremony, as Erin headed to document the beautifully done details at Radisson reception- I got to spend a rowdy hour with the bridal party, meandering around Fargo in the trolly!

Parker and Emily, I hope these images reflect the deep love and respect that you two have for eachother, and the love of the wonderful family and friends you are surrounded with.

Joe + Kaylee | Hopper Danley Wedding | Grand Forks Wedding Photographer

From the onset of meeting Kaylee and Joe, I knew this day would be a special one.  And that is not only due to the fact that all of my pre wedding meetings with Kaylee ended up being just an awesome coffee date full of fun conversation, with a little business thrown in.One of the aspects I enjoy most of joining couples on the incomparably special day of their wedding, is to watch and be a small part of experiencing the family dynamics.  From the minute I walked into Kaylee’s hotel room, it was very clear that she was surrounded by people who loved her and were completely FOR her.  Kaylee celebrated her wedding day without the physical presence of her mom, who she lost when she was very young, BUT, her day was filled with precious details and momentos dedicated to her momma.  From the beautiful embroidary right on her wedding gown, to her handmade garder made from her mother’s wedding dress, to wearing her mother’s wedding ring throughout the day- the dedication to making her mother a special part of the day was very clear.  As we discussed our wedding schedule and checklist, Kaylee made it abundantly clear how very special her aunts were to her and to make sure we capture the special relationship she has with them.  And from a photographers perspective, the love that Tammy and Jodi have for Kaylee is so abundant and overflowing that all we had to do was show up with camera in hand.  Thank you Joe for allowing Erin to come hang out with you guys pre-wedding.  The love you have for Hunter and for Kaylee is unquestionable.

The joining of Kaylee and Joe was not only the beginning of oneness with these two individuals, but of a family.  And so, I was especially blessed to have an opportunity to capture a special first look with Kaylee and Joe’s (INCREDIBLY WELL MANNERED) and obviously handsome son, Hunter.

Thank you Joe, Kaylee, to your awesome wedding party and to the Henruds and Bushys for allowing Erin and I to share your day with you.  From beginning to end, it was our pleasure.
