Melanie & David

I met Melanie and David at the beautiful University Park for some photo time in between the ceremony and reception. You will see at the end  our attempt at getting the newly blended family in a full shot was not in 20 month old Michael’s plans..;)…so we decided on some fun seperate shots of Dave with his littles and Melanie with her sweet Michael.  Thank you to you both for sharing this little bit of your special day with me.

A word my mom always told me was that the best marriages were made up of two people who each felt that they got the better end of the deal- I pray this is the mark of your marriage from this moment on.  May you always bring out the best in one another.

This is a very special shot for Melanie.  What a beautiful way to honor her brother who passed away, keeping him close to her heart for her special day.

Awww, these are beautiful Laura! The boys are getitng so big love the ones where they’re giving each other big snuggles. And the last one of you and Adam is perfect! (*Shannon, I love your work more every time I see it. The happy just pours out of these shots, really stunning

Weston & Jewel

Weston & Jewel were married at the gorgeous Rustic Oaks venue just outside of Moorhead MN.  Other than the fierce wind (which I happen to love) the weather was beautiful.   It was such a blessing to have the opportunity to be with Jewel and Weston on their wedding day.

My prayer for you both is that you would know the width and length and depth and height of the love of Christ, and that you would be open vessels of that love to one another.  That your hearts will always be soft to Him, and that your marriage would be a reflection of His love and passion for you both.

And a BIG thank you to my second shooter/assistant for the day- Stacy!

To the readers unfamiliar with the tying of a threefold cord:

Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.  Ecclesiastes 4:12

The husband is one, the wife another, and the Lord is the third.  The husband and wife not only vow commitment to one another, but to God as the central of their marriage.

Most people would not put this on a wedding post- too..hmm…untraditional?  Well- to that I say ” Traditional is in the eye of the beholder”  And this is accurate, and true, and very very Jewel..

Great shot from the back Stacy!

Sigh. I love these. They are such a beautiful couple!

Jean-Philipe & Kellie

Phil & Kellie’s wedding was picture perfect.  10 degrees cooler than expected, blue skies with just enough cloud cover, and a most lovely bride.  After our first look on the Lincoln Golf Course, and a wedding at the gorgeous St. Mary’s church in Grand Forks- it was off to the Ralph Englestad Arena for some quick shots on the ice followed by a beautiful reception.

And a special THANK YOU to my fantastic second shooter (for the day) Lauren.

Thank you Kellie and Phil for sharing your day with me, it was such a great time!

On a side note:  Phil’s grandmother would NOT let go of her beloved husband for the entirety of the formals-…and I think that’s awesome. 😉

(Thank you to my second shooter Lauren for the black and white of Kellie’s approach)

Check out the awesome hockey pad cake servers that Kellie made especially for Phil!
(For those of you unfamiliar with this awesome couple- Phil is a former UND Sioux Goalie, and current professional hockey player!)

I have had the blessing of knowing Jewel for just about 2 years now, and she has quickly become one of my favorite people. 🙂  And so what better session to be the FIRST featured on the new blog! I can’t wait for the entertainment blessing the marriage of these two will be.  As you can tell by our engagement session- it will be fun!

And really- who doesn’t read their bible in the middle of the road??
